Fort Myers, FL – GCG Construction, a leading construction firm in Southwest Florida, is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Brian Blackwell and Jo Lucarelli. Both bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the company, further enhancing GCG Construction’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Brian Blackwell Joins GCG Construction as Project Manager
Brian Blackwell joins GCG Construction as a Project Manager, bringing over 17 years of experience in the construction industry. Blackwell is responsible for developing construction estimates and managing multiple projects simultaneously, while delivering an exceptional level of customer service to clients. His proactive work ethic and dedication ensure that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Brian’s career began in Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked as a laborer and was promoted to carpenter while attending college. He holds both a Bachelor’s and an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management from the University of Central Missouri. Before joining GCG, Brian worked for a SWFL commercial contractor on projects including clubhouse amenities, educational facilities, office spaces, and retail establishments.
Brian has successfully estimated and managed various high-profile projects, including the $13 million Van Otterloo Campus Project in Immokalee, Florida, and the $33.3 million Horace O’ Bryant Middle School in Key West, Florida. He is particularly looking forward to working on complex projects such as the new Yacht Sales and Service Facility for MarineMax in Fort Myers.
Jo Lucarelli Joins GCG Construction as Project Manager
Jo Lucarelli brings over 20 years of experience as a Civil Engineering Technician (CET) to her new role as Project Manager at GCG Construction. Jo’s career in construction was inspired by her father, a welder, and her cousin, an architect. She began her professional journey in surveying and civil engineering, working on industrial, retail, and residential land planning, zoning, and water/wastewater design and permitting.
Jo’s love for building and fieldwork grew during her time spent on water/wastewater treatment plant projects, where she conducted field inspections and monitored construction. She eventually transitioned to vertical construction and has never looked back. Jo’s notable projects include the design and construction of a sanitary pump station at Starke Prison and a natural wetlands effluent treatment system in Ocala. More recently, she has worked on projects such as the new location of Salon Bellezza and Brightstar Care in Naples, and the retail center in Cape Coral.
Jo was motivated to join GCG Construction by the company’s longevity, accolades, and commitment to integrity and work-life balance. She values the company’s philosophy of “slow and steady wins the race” and is excited to contribute to GCG’s mission of exceeding client expectations and building long-lasting relationships.
