GCG Construction is thrilled to announce the completion of MarineMax Sarasota’s multiple phase marina renovation project.  Located on City Island at 1601 Ken Thompson Parkway in Sarasota, the marina accesses Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico and has over 350 dry rack storage slips with a protected basin that is outfitted with 13 wet slips. This location was one of the first MarineMax locations since 1998.

In July of 2018, GCG and MarineMax received governmental approvals to undergo a complete transformation which has included new dry storage racks to expand capacity from 3 levels to 4 levels which house 45’ boats. A new Marina Member’s Lounge just opened providing restrooms, showers, and a lounge for boaters. Other onsite improvements include upgraded fuel systems, wastewater treatment system, shade pavilion with entry gates, additional parking, site lighting, and security cameras. Concrete drive aisles now accommodate new equipment such as the Wiggins Marina Bull forklift for larger boats and allows for cleaner marina operations. Two seawall enhancements have been made in the basin which includes a complete transformation with a floating dock for easy boarding.

Through all phases of construction, the team at GCG Construction has been able to keep this marina fully operational while keeping safety at the forefront.
